1. Set Your Resolution
Open the Geometry & Presets section. Choose a preset (1080p, 4K, Ultrawide, etc.) or type a custom Width and Height in pixels. The canvas updates instantly.
2. Configure Safe Areas
Still in Geometry & Presets, set your Action Safe (default 5%) and Title Safe (default 10%) percentages. These appear as dashed cyan and magenta frames on the pattern.
3. Toggle Layers
Expand Layer Visibility to turn individual elements on or off:
| Layer | What it does |
|---|---|
| Chess Pattern | Subtle black/dark checkerboard background |
| Alpha-Numeric Labels | Grid cell labels (A1, B1…) for pixel mapping |
| 20% Grid Lines | Evenly spaced reference lines at 20% intervals |
| Center Crosshair | Red crosshair + small circle at dead center |
| Center Circle | Full-height red circle for geometry verification |
| Corner Arrows | White L-arrows at all four corners |
| Safe Area Frames | Cyan (action) and magenta (title) dashed borders |
| Grayscale Ramp | 11-step luma ramp bar near the bottom |
| Color Bars | SMPTE-style 8-color bar strip |
| Metadata Overlay | Resolution and safe area info as text |
4. Add Logos & Text
Open Logo & Text Assets to:
- Edit the Custom Reference Text shown on the pattern (defaults to “Axion Displays Pattern Generator”)
- Upload a custom PNG/SVG to replace or overlay the Axion logo — then enable it via the Custom Logo checkbox in Layer Visibility
5. Adjust Chess Square Size
In Geometry & Presets, the Chess Square field sets the tile size in pixels (default 80px). Increase it for large displays, decrease for fine-pitch panels.
6. Export
Click Export Pattern PNG at the bottom of the sidebar. The file downloads as Axion_Displays_WxH_pattern.png at full native resolution, regardless of how it appears scaled in the browser.
Tip: On mobile, all sections start collapsed — tap a section header to expand it.
